I was flown up from Queenstown for this project with Remuera High School after meeting their business manager at the SIEBA conference in Auckland, a conference for schools with international student programs where they can network and learn from other school programs around the country.
Remuera Intermediate wanted a whole refresh of their photo library because it had been about 10 years since their latest set of images were updated. I was told they had invested in working with a web designer, and that a strong set of fresh imagery was the final piece to help modernise the website.
Because I am also a primary school teacher, we were able to work seamlessly together with a whole host of different students and teachers to get a variety of shots.
The shoot involved going from location to location around the school, mixing between shooting with natural light, using an on camera Godox flash, and using an off camera Godox flash set up with an umbrella on a portable stand.
I spent 4-5 hours at the school, spending 15 minutes in each location, capturing imagery fast and as naturally as possible. Definitely one of my most logistically challenging school shoots, but we came out with an amazing set of candid, relatable and impactful imagery they could use on this new website, and the way they chose to use the imagery looks amazing!
