I was commissioned by Dent Construction, Hamish Learmonth and Finz Restaurant to create imagery and video content about the newly remodelled Finz Restaurant. Finz is a historic restaurant in Queenstown, and sits directly out in front of the famous steamship in the Steamer Wharf.
Dent Construction was looking to create content around their rebuild, and then HLA Architecture and Finz expressed interest in having content as well, so we built a 2 tiered content shoot, to be done in the monring and then again at night.
In the morning, I captured photo and video of the restaurant without people, to capture more of the architectural features and the overall space, and then I came back at night time when the restaurant was nice and busy to show how the vibe of the restaurant changes once the sun goes down, and the lighting in the restaurant takes effect.
We worked with a set of 8 models for the shoot (staff of the restaurant), 4 in the morning, and then 4 in the evening and had to work around dinging guests.
It was a very challenging shoot, but a great test of my creativity in the commercial restaurant photography space.
The images landed in the local QT magazine (See below), and will now be used by all 3 clients to promote their involvement in the remodel. An incredible project to be a part of, and I am really pleased with how it all came out!
