I volunteered to photograph my first motorsport event in Queenstown, the Coronet Peak Hill Climb. An institution in the town, the event gathers photographers and videographers each year that don’t mind volunteering their time to capture a fun day out and some epic racing.
I have never done motorsports photography until this event, but I was really keen to test the waters and see what we would get. It was a great day out at Coronet peak, and the adrenaline was high! I was stationed towards the top of the course all day, and was able to capture a variety of content, testing out panning shots of the cars, scenic shots and the crowd.
Motorsports photography might be new to me, but the intensity felt all too familiar to my adventure sports photography, and I felt right at home. I hope I get to do more in the future!
